Default Upgrading the D2 Audio

Its been a long time since I've owned a saloon and even longer since I've owned something thats quiet enough to benefit from a decent hifi install, so i'm thinking of a decent audio build.

I've started by reading the entire D2 ICE forum, but most of the links with what I wanted to know in the stickies are dead.

So would appreciate comments on what speakers we get as standard.

Car is a non Bose and as best I can determine without dismantling anything speakers are

Front Tweeters - up to 1.5" (Powered from the HU)
Front Woofers - no idea on size? (Powered from the HU)
Rear doors 4" door mids (Powered from the HU)
Tweeters near the door handle but no idea what size? (Powered from the HU)
Rear deck 6.5" coaxial or sub? (Powered by attached amps)

I know the front woofers sit in a bass wave enclosure, do the rear doors have similar or are they simply sitting in holes in the door?

thoughts appreciated

I'd like to know too. Have standard setup non-Bose and it's pretty bad. Been thinking of one of them under-seat subs but don't know how to connect one to standard Concert 1.

Another issue I'm experiencing is rear deck "subs" gotto be plugged in for rear speakers to work

Under seat active sub will take a line input from a speaker - just tap in to rear door speaker wires in the 'B' pillar and configure to accept line input.

This is an interesting debate, but my thoughts (having taken the door apart for other reasons using Sean's guide) is where do you put anything?

It's all pretty tightly packed inside a D2, and the only "decent" sub I've seen described is MJ's which IIRC is in the boot and uses the ski hatch to emit sound into the cabin.

Plus if you take a door apart you WILL need at least some of the door card clips (they break) and I thought I read somewhere that they're NLA.

I've taken an "executive decision" having "upgraded" from a PF S8 with Bose to a non-Bose FL S8 to stick with OEM and enjoy the engine......

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
