I just replaced my entire cowl cover (aka scuttle cover for my RHD brethren) and fortunately, I landed a piece in a very good state. Good to know there are options if need be.

It was looking amazing, never seen it Green except in the sun! Then picked up some Saharan Red Dust on the bonnet from a shower, then LOADS of rain on the M5 and M4 and subsequent motorway spray......

Next cool dry overcast day I'll be out practicing what I learnt from Nicola today.

Met a few a**holes on the Motorway who came steaming up behind headlights ablaze when I was in an overtaking queue, then realised what they were trying (and failing) to intimidate and dropped back, almost politely.
I wasn't rushing (or dawdling! )as the conditions were a bit unpleasant. Most then just passed me normally when the opportunity arose.
Though one big ugly X5 (not M5!) with a very weird private plate, once I'd drifted left a lane (in my own good time as he was driving way too close for the conditions) after overtaking an innocent punter decided to floor it very loudly and headed off at well over 120 into the wet spray-filled yonder.
I think he was trying to prove something to me, but we all know what he actually showed.....

It got covered in red dust and all sorts of M5/M4 crud yesterday, so was looking very sorry for itself this morning.
Decided to do a first attempt at the cleaning process as demonstrated by Nicola, pretty pleased with how easy and effective it was.


And yes the eagle-eyed will notice that I didn't pay much attention to the black section below the doors.

I also learnt that I only need at most a third of a bucket of the washing mixture when at the two-bucket stage. So the product should go a lot further if I wash regularly.
Snow foam, a 1-litre bottle of 10% diluted product seemed spot on with my Karcher.
And how clean and dry the drying towel was at the end was amazing, despite being told it would be!

I forgot to ask at collection, but what was the problem/resolution? I don't normally use the handbrake a lot so when I do need it......

It was just very loose. I tightened the adjuster about 10mm, so I suspect the cables have stretched slightly and its just not been adjusted for a while.

Indeed they did, I just caught sight of it today in the sun; it's a brilliant match and incredibly GREEN!

Time to get the winter wheels/tyres back on and put the 20s away for a few months.
Still looking VERY shiny despite having not been cleaned at all for quite a while, the rain and dirt literally just flow off!
