Default Ignition coil

It's been a long time since I switched out my stock ignition coil for the D3 ignition coils. How do I remove the pig tail connector for the ignition coil? I tried pushing down on the center tab and tried to pull the connector off and it didn't want to budge. I don't want to break this connector, so is there a trick to disconnect these?

Those latches are all the same on loads of connectors and totally counter-intuitive.
I know if you look at one once it's off you'll immediately see how they work.
Once you do whatever is needed (and it's VERY easy) they just slide off with minimal force.
IIRC you press on that exposed tab INWARDS towards the centre of the connector and off it comes.
I vaguely recall that the exposed tab is the end of a length of plastic with a catch on the other end, hinged half way along. Press on the tab and the catch lifts off.
BUT I could be wrong....

It really is easy when you get it right so DO NOT FORCE! It might help to gently push the connector on as you do that to enable the catch to open.
Try putting a finger behind and a thumb on the tab and squeeze while pushing on gently then keep squeezing and pull off.

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Thanks for the advice, I will give it another try. At first I didn't want to force anything and break something.
