Default Suggestions for D2 S8 Final Edition front disks & pads

I'm looking for recommendations for replacement disks and pads for my 2002 S8 Final Edition. The front left disk sounds unwell when slowing from speed (a warping sound with judder). I've heard that EBC are noisy, so I'm looking for any advice on the best replacements.
Am I stuck with Audi OEM parts?

Cheers in advance
Jim

You may wish to look at Black Diamond Disks with the Predator Pads. I use Ferodo DS 2500 pads and AP Racing Disks and have no noise issues and great braking. Link. The link is to the AP section on Audi brake upgrades so you can see the avaialable disk sizes. Give them a ring for disk only options. If you want to take up their kit try BG Developements for price as direct from AP can be dearer!

My warning light has just come on for brakes.
I have been in touch with A8 parts and they have kindly emailed me back with prices, but what do people recommend for my 99 A8 4.2 sport? I think the brakes are bigger than the normal D2 A8's being a sport, is that right?

What pads do people recommend? I dont want to spend to much, £200 max really for all round. Is this reasonable?

did mine recently and tbh I would be surprised if you get the complete set of pads and discs for less than about £250 but make sure you know the exact specs as there were several sizes of disc and even more types of pad lol check your rear caliper while you are there as they have a tendency to need replacing at about 100k miles plus

Sometimes the bolts on the back of the calipers are a beast to get off, though not so sure about the FL units.

If you're just doing pads, then it should be OK, but disks usually need the calipers removed too.

Calipers I'd leave until they cause a problem. Mine are still fine after 11 years and 145k miles with the exception of a stuck handbrake actuator on one a couple of weeks ago (45 quid from a8parts).

So I should just replace the pads for now until i have an issue then do the calipers and or discs?

I should be ok figuring out how to do they pads, but not sure if i would want to do the calipers and or discs.

So If I just go for pads, what does people recommend seeing as I only want to spend £400 for all four corners..?

This is a whole religious war in itself on pads

Black Diamond... RedStuff.. YellowStuff... OEM... Ferodo... Gandalf.... Legolas...

I've been using generic pads and disks and found them as good as OEM.. I paid about 160 for front pads and disks, and about 80 for rears on a PF D2 4.2.
