I removed a parrot from my RS6 because it was hopeless, but in its defense I think it was a very poor install by the previous guy.

Handfree stuff in the 8 works well as you have such a quiet cabin.

You have the advantage of already having a microphone etc in your car, but annoyingly the Germans optimised it for left hand drive as the mic is over the grill on the passenger side, and given the gubbins over top of the right hand one, it cant be moved. Pre face was better as it was central.

The Nav plus, like many other Audi units has the usual mute wire, but also a 'phone' input, so no need to mount an external speaker or hack around getting audio out of the phone kit - Just take the phone speaker output and route it into the input on your Nav unit. - The input is labelled Tel+ and Tel- on the top of the Nav unit.

Once wired like this, the phone audio comes out of the headunit, using Bose if present. The volume of the phone is independently controllable, and Navigation info can be configured for volume relitive to the phone. Phone volume work on multi function steering wheel too which is cool.

So, can i comment on the parrot specifically - No.

But the Nav plus does a pretty good job of making life easier

Thanks for that ian nice bit of info, I fitted a parrot to my girlfriends new beetle a few weeks back and it work perfectly so I just needed to know that there would be no reasons why the navi wouldn't work with it

Cheers

Ooh.. where does the mic wire come out in the PF model? My Nokia one keeps falling off.

And do you think it will be OK with a Nokia kit?
