I have never been to the UK. So I would like to visit interesting places, while I have the opportunity.

Large cities doesn't really interest me. But I would like to visit smaller communities where one can have a chat with the locals. And to visit historical places.
I will probably arrive in the UK several days before the Annual meet, and also stay the following week.

I plan to move around as it suits me. And I will not have a set plan, or schedule. Besides the Annual meet, of course.

Going by intuition usually suits me pretty well.
I'm no expert on the south of England, but a few suggestions for your journey north ...

Bletchley Park

The British Motor Museum

Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is also on the edge of the area known as the Cotswolds AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), which is well worth a visit and is a nice, tranquil place to stay for a few nights. If you have enough time you could continue on from the Cotswolds into Wales, which has some stunning driving roads.

It depends what you like to see and do really.

I can recommend Painswick if you are this far south-west:
http://www.rococogarden.org.uk/

The gardens are beautiful and the town is also very nice.

Not far from there is the "JCB" restaurant and farm shop, there's a really good cheese room there too!

https://daylesford.com/

I can recommend Woodchester Mansion too, quite an amazing place to see.
http://www.woodchestermansion.org.uk/HomePage.aspx

If Bristol isn't too far then there is the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Downs (don't forget to go through the Giant's cave to get a really good view).

If you want a good free online route planner, try Furkot. I've been using it for planning the Peak District routes. Works great for routes with multiple stops and you can share/collaborate the route planning too.

Ooh that looks very useful. Link to the trip here

We're planning on stopping for lunch at the Lakeside Bistro which is just off the A42, SW of Ashby De La Zouch so we can meet those not coming up the M5 here at around 1pm. They are happy to accommodate us and have a nice big car park

If you're going to be joining us for lunch, could you add your name to the list please so I can book a table of suitable size:

Michaela (1)
CtL (2)
...

Crikey that's a long way up by 1pm I kinda discussed with Mike meeting further south than that near the M42 A38 area at about 1-2pm, and as I'm down at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire all morning, I'm not sure what time i can get away but I would guess thats at least an hour from there and I'm unlikely to get away by 12 noon

My route planner says exactly 1 hour (40-odd miles) from Ragley Hall.
