Try MRC Tuning. Ask them if they can flash a PreFacelift chip.
FaceLift chips can be flashed many times, no need to de-solder. MRC, Revo, many other places will flash a FL chip.
I will be going to MRC to get some custom code to eliminate SAI pump and solenoid, and post-cat lambdas. Luckily for you PF cars dont have these pointless items.

I should add I know nothing about car ECU coding either.

I have sourced some PLCC44 M27C1024 chips if you need them £4 a piece +£1 postage UK mainland.

My friend does not have programmer for PLCC44, but if there is enough interest(and if I can make my money back for investment) I could get one. I do have spare ECU that I could try it on with a new chip and and software I posted earlier to see if it will allow coding to manual and run OK. If it works as expected I could then provide chip swap service.

Thanks for the kind offer John, I will pop some in the post tomorrow morning. And get some sockets to go in ECU. You don't happen to have tuned file for AHC do you?

i was going to update this too...

i've got a colleague in the controls department at work who has offered to flash a few chips for me, so i just need to get him the correct file to flash. i just need to confirm the file attached earlier in this thread (Thanks ainarssems) is the one i need. Does anyone know how many files there were for the manual s8, as in versions?

Im going to be running abz on a 01a/01e box, so this file will\should have the cps sensor in the same location as the manual s8?

Ta.

For ABZ you will need some kind of frankenstein file or a custom made file as there was never ABZ with manual. The file I posted is for AHC manual.

Tuned a few buddy. Sharpen up nicely but not massively.

My D3 was tuned and now got 174k on her. Running a treat.

I was informed by a user on this forum, and hope this is the case ,that an Abz will run on a AHC ecu due to there similarities. I know there are physical differences I.e solid lifters, 7k rev limit etc, but the timing and injection sensors were very similar or essentially the same Or have I been led up the garden path, again!?

It should run but I do not know how well or how safe. MAF and injectors are different so their calibration maps will be different. Valve timing and compression is different so ignition timing will be different as well. Ideally You would want to get a tuner who can copy map values from ABZ into AHC file.

ok thanks for the information. Im a bit stuck what to do really, i have both a ABZ and AHC ecu's and can get them rechipped/flashed but there doesnt seem much point at the moment without the correct files. Any suggestions on running an ABZ on a manual box? Cheers
