Yeah never knew so many Imps were still in existence, notice one of them is an estate type which if I remember may have been called the Hillman Huskey, and theres an Imp Van too, my very first car. Cost me a fiver from a distant relative who worked at the plant in Linwood, think I got £50 for it about a year after. Does make you wonder what is hidden away out there. God feeling really old now

I learnt to drive in a Hillman Imp - my mum had 2 of them. Amazing how many people you could get in with the rear seat folded flat! We once got stopped goung to a fancy dress party and the nice policeman made all 8 of us get out - including Dracula and a Roman whore. He laughed so much he just sent us on our way!

And my first car was a 1965 mini which cost £110.

But this guy's in Glasgow - we should see if we can arrange a visit?

See some Sunbeam Imp Sports in there too - 4 headlight variety, so not end of the line.

We had one of those with a 930cc motor, plus a Singer Chamois, not that many years ago lol

I noticed the Triumph 2500 PI/ S estate in BRG on the top 'shelf'

You're right about the 'Husky' name, a friend of mine had one, as well as the Sunbeam Stiletto (I had the Rapier), & singer Chamois

There was a head case at the bottom of my road who'd transplanted a Rover V8 into an Imp (mid engined), & another psycho at the car club who had a climax V8 in his! (claiming that the imp engine was essentially half of one...

V8 in an Imp sounds great but mad, they did seem to have an attraction with some folks they used to be popular among some saloon racers as well

Even though the front end tended to lift above 60mph! We had a paving slab in the front of ours to keep it down. And for you young folk, petrol was 30p a gallon (around 4.5 litres) so we didn't care about fuel economy!

My first car was a Singer Chamois, seems we have a kind of Imp thing going here.
It was so light on the front. I discovered that a violent jab of the brakes helped the fronts bite and get you round islands.
But that only worked when it was running. If you've owned an Imp you'll know all about head gaskets.
Brilliant all aluminium engine with twin Stromberg carburettors, but underdeveloped. Was used I think in racing boats, so the Climax crossover is not to weird.
Mine cost £325. 3 years old on an E (1967). Can't recall what I got for it as part xd for a new Mini 1000 Yuck in yuck yellow. Still it smelt new and cost a little over £800 if I recall right
