New Key
I've misplaced one of my keys.
What's the process for getting a replacement key? 2011 A8 3.0 SE. Do I need to buy one from Audi? (ouch) Not sure what the official name of it is, but basically the doors unlock by pressing the unlock button on the fob, not by proximity. I've had a look online and there seem to be lots of second hand fobs, but I don't think that is wise, especially if you need use the key if the batteries dead. So I'm after a new key fob please.

Doesn't sound too outrageous to be honest, compared to the prices of keys for other cars.
Got any relevant insurance cover?  A decent remote key for my antique Ford Focus is around £80 from a reputable aftermarket supplier (more from Ford), plus programming which I happen to be able to do myself.

Polestar performance "optimisation".  (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

£220 is a bargain compared to some others which can be £400-500 Most don't, but some insurers do offer key cover, but probably not worth harming any NCD for £220.
