Good write up buddy
Few tips if you don't mind. There is no need to remove the window frame at all. I've changed glass, handles, soft close latches and entire wiring on front and rear door and I have never ever touched the frame and no, it doesn't take longer with frame in, it's probably quicker. In regards to electric blinds, yes, the service mode is a b1tch so I found the way to remove them without the need of service mode, again really simple and easy. Also replacing rear or front door top chrome trim is easy without the need of removing window frame. FYI, non of these methods requires breaking or cutting bits so after the job is done everything is as it was before.

Just to confirm, I’ve changed my lock today and did it without removing the window frame. It is like the crypto factor turning it all different directions and ways but eventually with removing the bottom frame bolt it came out. Funnily it went in and out a few times after that it it was easy the second and third time.
I bought a lock off eBay so I could just do a quick swap, unfortunately the part number was the same but mine had a H on the end ( late 2008 car ) . The later locks are more enclosed and seem to be stuck together so I couldn’t strip and repair and the older (2006 )replacement wouldnt fit. A quick trip to TPS through Friday afternoon traffic and 170 beer tokens later and it’s all fixed. If I had to do it again I think it would be about an hours work if I had the correct part. I believe the faulty one had a lazy motor as it was trying but not working. If anyone needs a rear drivers door lock I have one available.
