Default Tour of Europe in the A8

Well folks - checked the water, oil, tyre pressures (added more for the extra weight!), spare tyre and all the other bits!

Off on a short tour of Europe - Leeds (GB), Folkestone (GB), Calais (F), Strasbourg (F), Florence (I), Mougins (F), Calais (F), Folkstone (GB), Leeds (GB).

From Strasbourg to Florence, going via Switzerland and planing on going on the Stelvio pass

Car will have four adults (well my kids think they are) plus luggage!

1 night in Strasbourg.
2 nights in Florence
7 night in Mougins (near Cannes for those who don't know - got a villa for the week and so looking forward - our own private pool. )

Will post pics as and when (only if anyone is interested!!!)

Cheers

Pics would be good mate, have a safe time. Make sure you have sufficient European cover and remember the milk is naff in France, and I have more gallons of milk a day then the S8 does petrol a year so that rules me staying out in France for long periods of time!

If you can do it a video of your run down (up) the Stelvio pass would be awesome. Have a safe trip and lets see some photos of the 8 in exciting locations.

Quick update.

Filled up with 98star fuel (about 70 litres) and still had about 15 litres in the tank.

Got to Folkestone with no problems - Mileage shown and the amount of fuel used:

This morning got on the Channel Tunnel again with no issues - the only way to travel to France
From Calais, drove to Strasbourg with a few small stops (the usual), plus put fuel in around 3 quarters of the way down - another pick when I pulled into the juice station:

Traveling at an average of 75MPH - quick enough to get you in the distance in good time, but also you get good MPG.

The hotel is lush and just off out for an evening meal and nosey.

In the morning, doing the trek to Florence - mention to the wife about the Stevilo pass and she almost died - see what I can manage though

Cheers

That sort of MPG is the perks of having an A8, I drove at 50MPH with no heated seats/aircon and got 30.6 and no more no matter how 'eco' I tried to be. Down to 19/20 when at my normal cruising speed 85ish

Definitely - The ferries do seem rather slow in contrast, not to mention the slightly queasy feeling

Always book the chunnel for a time later than you think you could need - They will always bump you onto an earlier one FOC, and then if you're late you dont miss it
