Default Opinions on which LPG kit ?

Looks like I'm not going to get a quick sale on my S8 so am heading away on holiday on wednesday morning and thinking of taking a head stagger and getting the S8 gassed while I'm away. Always wanted to try a gas project so will probably go ahead with it this week. Have to make my decision before tomorrow so any opinions tonight will be very much appreciated.

My initial thought is BRC, but the gas man I'm going to use is trying very hard to push me down the road of EMER. I haven't even heard of EMER until I spoke to him but he says it ticks all the right boxes regarding quality on pipework, brass fittings etc etc etc.... plus it has a 3 year warranty instead of the 2 year one you get with BRC. Its his first choice of system, but he also did say BRC was good too just more expensive.

Personally I still think BRC but am curious to hear from anyone who has any EMER experience !

BRC or EMER and why ?

Also what is the largest size of tank any of you guys have managed in the boot of your D2 S8 ?

Just curious can you fit the filler cap in the normal place beside the main petrol filler cap or is there not enough room ?

Cheers !

I've had a few BRC's, and cant fault them.

I've had a few I've never heard of, and they were crud.

That doesnt mean EMER (whoever they are) wont be good, but personally, I'd be shelling out of the one I'm confident of.

The S8 pushes 360bhp and a 7000 rpm redline, with a twitchy tendancy to rev high.

Some poorer LPG installs will be switching back to petrol north of 4000 rpm, which will make the whole conversion a point pointless if you tend to enjoy a spirited ride.

The Prins I had recently on a D2 S8 held on LPG till 6500 rpm, which I found quite staggering.

So, for me - I'd be checking out if the conversion they propose can deliver at the top end, and what guarantees there are if it doesnt...

HTH.

Thank you !

If I took him up correctly its the size (or its ability to work) of the vaporiser which determines if the car will switch back onto gas or not under hard acceleration. He said the EMER definitely wouldn't switch back (he has used them on cars rated at 500 bhp) and the BRC shouldn't !
