Used FE 20" Alloys..... would you ?
Guys,
Would you personally buy a set of these and if you would how much do you think they are worth ? I have been offered these and because Ive been looking for so long I was going to overlook my initial concerns and buy them, but there is one thing that really annoys me, and would like everyones thoughts....... the alloys have been refurbished and would look good from a distance but if you zoom in and look at the outer radius of the rim between the spokes it has been pitted and then painted over without any decent preparation. So again your thought on this one as I have to move quick if I want them. Just not sure ! Tyres are Nexen, two as new and two around the 4-5mm mark. Cheers !

A good set seems to sell for about a grand - rough sets from £500 upwards depending on how shocking they are
Used tyres of poor brand and wear don't really add value IMHO but can always be sold on Consider that quality tyres won't leave much change from 300 a corner I'd rather pay nearer £2k for a mint set with good premium tyres than £750 for a shagged set with dodgy tyres As for refurb I suspect most places won't do much better on finish unless you spend serious money with Lepsons. Mine were about £60 a wheel and look pretty reasonable but if I was being picky I could prob find a couple of areas that aren't perfect

I did buy a set of those, they look great on both D2s and D3s
I agree with Adrians comments, you can get a poor set with no tyres from £600-900 a set and sometimes with tyres on from £800 to £1600 and generally you very much do get what you pay for! If you want top notch finish then buy without tyres or dont pay much for them, and refurb the wheels but you may need new centre caps too which can cost another £100 per set. Some D3 wheels are 9" rims like mine and others are 8.5" so just make sure the set match when you look over them.
