...if there is no 4th pin, what I will need you to do is to measure the length of the whole wire from pin 1 to wherever it goes. I will make new wire with the pin 4 crimped to one end on the pin 1. I will send you extracting tool (which I will need back) unless you want a link to have your own, along with the wire.
So all you will need to do is extract both ends and plug the new wire in.

Kit turned up today, however the fibre cable and power connections are missing from the kit despite having it advertised as containing it. I do however have a brand new AMI unit, removal tools and AMI to USB lead.

I've messaged the seller and await their reply, the cable set on its own seems to be another £80.

Oh Manny, I hope he will send you missing harnesses otherwise just return it and shop around for another one ?
I could possibly make you at least the power one for the cost of materials if I could get a picture of Matty's one for example and then spend the refund money for the optical harness ??

I may just end up doing this. Although I like the idea of keeping the changer to play the odd shop bought CD it is by no means essential.

Still waiting for the seller to get back to me, TBH their communication is pretty poor anyway. They did not even mark the rest of the kit as dispatched, it just turned up this morning. For all I know they have sent the cable set, they have good ebay feedback could just use better comms. I'll leave it a few days before deciding to fit it in place of the changer.

The AMI module is 4E0 035 785F with SW V850 023004 and HW Version H20, not sure based on these how recent this unit is but it is supplied in official Audi Packaging, so is new.
