True, that would be better value, although presumably it has the DRC still, so have to budget for that fix and the gearbox (!)
I'm getting worryingly close to looking seriously at a B7 S4 at the moment... I just fancy something a bit smaller, bit newer, and if I'm gonna spend 2K on a gas conversion, I'd rather have something with lower mileage.... I think my D3 will be going either way as its just time for change really......

It's on Bilstein Coilovers, I've spoken to the owner. I'm not going to buy just yet as I'm watching the prices they are in transition at the moment. This one is probably the most sorted for sale. New gearbox,turbos,heads C6 RS 6 brakes, warranty and Coilovers and a viper engine and box map. Viper are VERY good at remapping and along with MRC the only two companies I would have remap my car. I know the old owner and no expense spared doesn't say half of it.

B6 or B7?

RanjA8 on here has an 03 S4 with low miles and Milltek but he uses his D2 A8 4.2 qs a lot more as says it's just so much nicer to commute in (being a locum optician he did 30k miles in the A8 in a year)so if you want it as a commute car... It probably won't match the comfort. The only '4' I want is the B5 RS 4
 Unit 20s pulled a 0-60 in 3.3 seconds at that drag strip we were at a few weekends back.

I was looking at C5 2.7 T's, but to find a manual one in reasonable nick is tough, and they still look a little dated now....
B5 S4 is same engine obviously, but somehow the B5 is looking quite old now, and looks well screaming round a track or down the strip but isnt a daily long hauler any more.... Interesting comments on the comfort.... I'm almost a bit bored of being that comfortable, ive concluded that with all this comfort, radar cruise, auto box and all the other 8 refinements that I'm probably more asleep when I arrive anywhere simply because I dont need to wake up !! - I want a bit of discomfort, I want a bit of hardship, I want more sport and less wafting..... I've even been looking at Scoobies & M5's....

What I can say about the B6 S4 from my experience in Ranj's. It sounds absolutely awesome, it throws me back into my seat hard and the build quality is really really stunning. But it's mainly the V8 noise I like on it, he picked me up from work in it when my car was having it's belts done and it sounded like brutal thunder, then it burbled past me and some friends one day and they couldn't believe it, proper muscle car type of noise... And he has just picked up some non res rather then res pipes for it now, so it will be even louder!!!
