Hi, at the start of the year my S8 just stalled from idle when I arrived home, and would only run very badly after restart. It was the start of a major saga, and I've put together a timelapse video of the six-or-so weekeends I spent on it.

Plenty of work in that ,did you buy a 2nd hand manifold ?,I did mine 18 months ago ( just carbon clean and valve cover gaskets and oil filter gasket when in there ),

Yep it's a second hand manifold, and had already been split in two when I got it. I bought it thinking I'd remove the flaps but it turned out that they weren't too bad, so I put it back together to get a bit more life out of them

Great work, especially for someone doing it as a hobby.

All very familiar, I had photos of my first S8 manifold stripped off and pieces of the plastic flaps balanced precariously on top of the cylinders. I had them removed from that manifold and removed from the current car, despite them being in good condition. They're too much of a risk and very little, if any, difference at all.
