Default Key Fob Programming???

Hey guys............

Car: 2002 Audi A8 2.8V6 Quattro Sport

My spare key fob doesn't unlock/lock the doors with the buttons! I have tried a couple of tricks that were posted on here. So my question is............

Is there a definate way to get this to activate or is it a job for Audi or a key programmer?

TIA

The difficult bit is to asses if the fob is operational or not. Is the battery good? Did it ever work? No to either an new battery for one and key programmer for the other. Have you tried the good in the ignition, new key in the lock routine?

AFAIK this is dealership only...................special keys to keep auto thefts down unlike bmw! IIRC you have to take your v5 and other docs to prove you own the car before audi will even look at it

I am sure you can do remote control lock/unlock without dealer, immobilizer you can do up to 2000 and then 2003-2007 with Vag Tacho or Vag Commander.

It's 2000-2002 and 2008+ immobiliser coding that needs visit to dealer or authorised service that has access to VW servers.

Agreed.

Recoding key for Central locking is relitively simple - Thats the top have of the key with the buttons.

The bottom part of the key with the blade houses the immobiliser, which is a dealer job unless you have a code to login to your immobiliser, which Audi stopped giving out with new cars from 2000

Can anybody send me a PM or link on how to do this on my '98 PF?
Dealer couldn't make more than 1 key work, so gave me the new key as a freebie!

Have 2 others (inc original key) that unlock the car, start it, but only run for about 1 or 2 seconds
