They'r a bit fugly in the 4rse, but for sub 5k. I'd take it in a heartbeat. BM's do drive well, and the quality of the Idrive is something Audi could learn from

They're OK, just OK, nothing special. That one is far from fully loaded and you can find them for a lot less than £4k. Mate of mine bought a 54 plate 730i recently, similar spec for £2200. I'd actually choose that over the V8 in the E65 personally.

iDrive is a pain to get used to but eventually you find it quite intuitive and advanced for a car from 2003.

I like my BMWs, as you all know, but that era of 7-series is damn ugly, no thanks, not much more would get you into the much better looking facelifted car

Not a big fan of them, massive on the outside and I'm sorry, but ugly as hell.
Not saying is a bad car as I have never drove one.

'Fully Loaded' usually means it isn't and is really, really, really annoying

This really frustrates me, majority of ads say fully loaded. We know its all lies, but a lot of people don't.
Unless, they mean that ad its fully loaded with BS then

Whenever I start thinking about buying a BMW, I go and check the common problems with the specific engine for the car I'm looking at. So far just reading about their engine problems has scared me off. Same with Porsches, yes they must be amazing when they are working, but so many of their engines seem to have serious mechanical problems. The earlier models that I can afford anyway, couldn't comment on the more recent models.

BMW diesel engines seem to be a bit more solid, if I really wanted a BMW I would probably get a diesel.

You're bound to pick up an early D3 for similar money - much more pleasing on the eye!
