Audi, to my knowledge, haver never published the changes implemented in any updates to ECU firmware. Accordingly, it's impossible to determine what fixes, changes or additions are made when going from one level to another.

The BTA [aka rSAP] ECU quoted in this thread is quite rare [compared with Handyvorb2]; all I can say is that the level in the car mentioned - 0530 - is the very first level on that ECU and that it had four subsequent updates in the following two years - 0710, 0900, 0960, 1120 [Final].

I don't have a BT phone ECU; but I'd suggest if your BT phone works, don't bother with any updates ...

I don't have any issues with the BT in the car right now (aside from Siri getting confused now and again which can confuse the BT in to whether it should activate or not) so my intention is to:

1. Run CD1
2. Run CD3
3. Remove CD player and fit AMI in its place
4. Check functionality
5. Run CD1 and CD3 again to see if subsequent updates apply to the AMI module newly fitted

In fact - if it all works after point 4 then I'm likely to just leave well alone :-)

Looks OK at first glance but 5 won't work as you need CD drive and AMI at the same time.

However, I thought you said "I have ordered the 2G External device AMI 4E0057785F". Check the label and I think that level will be at V850. If it is, that's the latest level and you don't need 5 anyway

BTW, 1 & 2 should say "Run CDx until no updates are indicated"; to make sure there are no further updates on a CD. I vaguely recall 5150 updates some MMI screens second time ...

Thanks, ran cd1 once and cd3 once, all done fine.

Are you saying I should run them both through again or just cd3?

Would be good to know what these updates give in terms of extra functionality over the ami compatibility, is there a sticky for that somewhere?

Cheers Julian!

No; I meant run CD1 twice before CD3 and then CD3 twice.

There's no point in running CD1 again now as that's a backward step - you subsequently replaced that version [5150] by running CD3 [5570]! I would run CD3 again to see if there's anything outstanding ...

After that you might like to run through the 'Hidden Red Menu' displays to confirm that the changes you expected were made. [Interfacebox to 5570, BO-D3 to 0320, Tuner to 0630].

Suggest you check the BT phone to see that it works to your satisfaction.

And to answer your question about list of changes; there's no official statement from Audi about what levels changed or fixed what. Remember that some of the MMI or ECU updates are to fix problems [that you may not have seen] rather than to implement major design changes. The 'biggies' that I would say are that the AMI interface supports multiple file types and the navigation allows a 'birds eye' view [assuming you've updated the NavBox firmware with a 2009 on map DVD]. There are minor changes like some MMI menu options are relocated, the MMI is apparently 'faster' and you can switch media sources by pressing the media button on the MMI panel.

Thanks chaps. Got it all up and running and now have a tune2air wma3000a plugged in.

Was a bit hit and miss getting it going, needing a couple of restarts and plugs and unplugs before it would recognise me playing Spotify, will see if it is consistent now I have it working - may just be a certain procedure I need to remember.

I will run CD3 again plus am going to get the latest WE DVD as I am travelling Through France in a couple of weeks
