Default D3 S8 sort close not working on any doors, rear right door not locking at all.

Dear All,

Can anyone tell me what checks I need to make to figure out why none of my doors soft close are working? Surely all the actuators are not likely to have failed at the same time. The trunk soft close works but none of my doors work.

Ps. Only discovered softclose feature was fitted when I took the rear right door card off to figure out the following lock problem.

The right rear door does not lock at all. When I press the key the door makes a click but does not lock. The alarm also does not chirp when I lock the car. It it likely this lock has failed?

I just discovered a retangular slot on the edge of the door accessible when open, if I push the key in to this slot tyere Is a ćlick. The Door will then lock when I press the key. The alarm will also chirp. If I unlock with the key however the door will not unlock, I can only unlock when I pull the handle inside to open the door.

VCDS reports: Door Rear Right
1 fault found
02115 Door locking unit for central locking
008 implausible signal. Intermittent.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

It's possible that you may have soft close on the boot but not on the doors at all, have you checked the data label in your boot or in the front of your service manual to see if soft close doors were originally featured? It seems mighty odd that all four would have all packed up at the same time

Have you ever known them to work? If not who is to say they all failed the same day, just that they failed before you owned the car.

My D4 (approved used) didn't have puddle illumination on the handles - or so I thought, until I realised that all four LEDs had failed! Easy fix in my case, 4 new "LEDs" at about £50 all in

Bear in mind, all of the parts fitted at the factory will be from the same batch - so it stands to reason may fail around the same time - especially when it comes to things like motors?

Default re soft close doors

its the same on my w12 all not working
reason is the normally closed switch built in to the lock mech its self is a bit like the rear light made cheaply
I am sorting mine out with small magnet reed switch rs part number 289-7806
and works fine on drivers door so far
