Default whats it worth

roughly what are they worth Dont worry i dont and wont get offended lol. ebay prices r so different hard to get a proper idea. Autotrader is mainly traders with very high prices. CAN JUST GIVE ME A BALL PARK
Right had the A8 for sometime now. I bought the car because i love it and its one of the only cars that can take 3 kids in rear, without going MPV or 4x4.
Other reasons for buying it was the backing of A8 parts for spares and AVP I.E Ben. So had everything covered, parts, and any work needed doing to it.
Then theres u lot LOL.
Now tho, things have changed. Not just for me but for all of us, No Ben (Dont get me wrong i wish him luck and all the happyness in the world )
Over the last month ive been looking for another Ben. I have someone local who can do the jobs. I can tell tho there heart isnt in it, its just a car booked in unlike Ben.
There a great garage for day to day stuff. With the fault codes ive got on car at mo, they just looked at codes then reset it. They have done this twice now. Im sure its because they dont want the work. Not because there cowboys. Think its more they dont know the car or where things are.
So as i havnt had any luck finding another Ben around, who knows theses cars back to front, think i got to let her go . If it wasnt a daily, things would be different.
Steve has said its up to me as its my car, what i do. Anyone who knows me or my A8 baby will know i dont want to do this. I do have my Ibiza 130 but dont have the connection with it. Its just my car to get me to A 2 B.

So big question is whats it worth in the real world
51 plate 3.7 quattro sport ming blue 134,000 on the clock full history LPG
fully service cpl of weeks ago
BRC LPG full service Jan 2010
2 front tyres put on
think 10 or 11 months mot
taxed for 6 months
twin MIJ exhaust system ( will put a quite box on if the buyer wants to lose the big V8 sound it has now)
gearbox final drive seal done
gearbox serviced
anythink she has needed she has had LOL
(Steve says she is female A8 as she likes money spent on her lol)

As for what ide replace it with, nothing. as the A8 has spoilt me. So poss another A8, when i find another Ben, or when REVO come to wales, Bristol, Gloucester.

31 readers and not 1 with a guide price
If you are worried about offending me with a guide price, dont be.
Ebay is so different price gaps, cant really get a guide from there.
AutoTrader seems to be traders with £5,000 for a 51 plate. Take it the dealers dont want to really sell them LOL

Mel,

I plumb for £3850. I suspect that you'll get your best price by selling it on here or Piston heads

Hi Mel - It seems a bad time to be selling the thirsty motors at the moment, there seems to have been a dip in the pricing.... The 4.2s and above just dont seem to be selling at the moment, and although yours in a 3.7 (which is a little smaller) the reality is that most people that want to buy a big thirsty A8 go for the 4.2 as its bigger and (usually) got more toys...

4K sounds optimistic, There are D3's regularly changing hands at 6K now and theres a 2001 3.7 on Ebay at the moment with way less miles with 0 bids starting at £2500....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-AUDI-A8-3...item2a0b20c3f2

If I were selling it, I'd make a strong point about the LPG and economy and its solid service history, hoping to net 3000 to 3500..

Probably not what you want to hear, but hope it helps....

Prices are roughly what i though so no real shock.
She might still be saved, ive been doing google search to find someone who knows there A8's. Out of 5 ive found, one roughly Match's what ive been told could be the problem. So thats a good sign.
Garage i take car to for daily dutys, is also saying they would do it. If they knew they could get help, from someone who knows theses cars back to front, if they get stuck. They know there way around Porsches, just not Audi A8's. Also they have there own machine shop, so thats been handy in the past.

So when i get chance, i need to ring the A8 Master LOL See if i can give garage his number, so they can talk. This is the best option for me, as i trust garage and i def trust the man who would be at the end of that phone, if they need him for info or advice.

Im fingers crossed, as i really really dont want to sell her.

Prob is im working 7days aweek so making it hard to sort

Hi Mel,

shame to hear you're considering getting shot of the '8. But needs must sometimes.

I think you'd struggle to get £3k personally. I've seen some ebay motors going for less than that with a 4.2 under the bonnet, but you've got the LPG going for you.

If I were you, I'd hold onto her. The faults can be rectified, if push came to shove, you could take it to Audi.

After all you've invested in her, you'd miss her like crazy, and then some....you're next '8 won't be the same
