Can you not still fit an Aux-in to RNS-D?

He is?

Am I understanding this correctly...we are talking about the RNS-E SatNav instructions back in the DIS?

If you do this Sergey you will become a God in my eyes!

I delayed my own D->E upgrade for a while because I did not want to be without the SatNav instructions in the DIS but relented in the end and never regretted it because the E is so much better than the D all-round.

All of the other messages from the E make it to the DIS including phone/radio/cd/tv/mp3 info etc. etc...only the SatNav info appears to be missing.

I know other '8 Gods' such as CraigyB, PaulW and Bjarne with his CANGate etc. were looking into this years ago but it got highly complex and due to the lack of a resolution I believe was given up on...real pity.

If we could get SatNav info back into the DIS then that would be one hell of a result.

Good luck Sergey...if there's anything I can do to help just let me know!

Regards,
-=Glyn=-

Camaro, I'm sorry to say Aux input only works for European RNS-E firmware.

US RNS-E firmware doesn't support aux input.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure that's completely right, I've seen a number of US cars with AUX cables run from the RNS-E here in the States, but I like this as it's a much cleaner look than what I've seen before. This almost looks OEM, which is my preference.

Upon looking a bit more, firmware update SW260 is required on the unit.

Maybe Audi released newer firmware for US that supports Aux input.

You need to connect 3 pins. Easy to find in google.

The +5V USB charger is done by hiding Belkin portable USB charger behind cover. It basically coverts ignition controlled +12V to +5V. I have purchased aftermarket cigarette lighter female socket, connected it to ignition controlled +12V, then inserted USB cable in it, and connected that cable to the back of BMW socket. All needed BMW parts are specified in photograph of invoice.

Adaper i used behind the scene:

It provides 1000mA cureent, which makes it possible to charge iPhone with standard Apple USB cable.
