Hi Trev
What year is your car?? Are you sure the SW is correct x 333 F not x336 F I know when brick BT by losing the driver for it during MMI update you must replace the module with the same PN and SW. I have a PN 4E0 862 335 / SW 4E0 910 336 F somewhere in the office so I could possibly send it to you to test it, if it works and you want to keep it we will talk money later on no stress, if it doesn't work then you will just have to send it back.

The '4E0 862 333 x' HW part number is for the "TELEFONMODUL EU" ECU that uses the car sound system and optionally uses the dedicated Bluetooth accessory handset that goes in the armrest.
I've seen it with both ... B and ... C part numbers; they are functionally the same. You can't easily select the software level [you'll get the level installed in the ECU when it was removed from the previous car] as most sellers don't think to check this before it comes out of the car! Note that labels on the ECU [as you can see on Ebay listings] that show the hardware number and software number - 4E0 910 333 x - show the originally installed level of software at manufacture, not the current level installed. You can obviously check the software level after you replace the ECU by running VCDS and it's probably worth running the optical test too on the MOST Bus, before you put the carpet back! If the ECU you get and install is not at the final software level for this ECU - SW 4E0 910 333 F : MMI Level 0770 - you'll need an MMI update CD at level 2120 or later. Julian
