Default airbag fault

My brother in law had this car before.....the interior is absolutely awesome...full of gadgets....

In terms of the airbag light....get the car on vag com...and you ll immediately know where the fault is....then either get the offending part changed or bypass it using a resistor....

The other bits I m not sure on sorry....in terms of bluetooth...do you have other phones you could try....my brother in law had an iphone...seem to work fine....but i know from experience that my nokia would never pair up properly with a bmw i had before....so worth trying a different make of phone first....

If you need some VAGCOM help, I pass Broxburn fairly regularly, or you could take a quick drive to Blantyre and I could scan it for you.

Car was fine when I sold it, no airbag lights and phone connected every time. I can't remember how to connect it now, it took me about 10 secs when I collected the car though so isn't hard. Adrian E should be along soon, he knows how to do it.

Ah well, since you asked

Press the phone button on the rns-e

Make sure Bluetooth is on on your phone and it's set to discoverable if needed

Press setup on rns-e (must be set to phone 1st!)

Set a Bluetooth pin which can be whatever you want eg 1111, then your phone should pick up a device with Audi in the name

That should be job done

Mine came with an OBD II scan tool. Invaluable for re-setting airbag light, abs light and others. Not expensive. This site is USA but I'm sure you can get one nearer. http://www.diydiagnostics.com/ Worth every penny

Hi and welcome to the forum. We normaly like pics but in this case you don't need to as the 8 you have is known well.

But if you take a picture of what you're looking at i'm sure we could help or at least Amar anyway.

If you plug it in to vag com it'll soon tell you if it is the seat air bag. There is a uk company called gendan see http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VAGUSB.html can have you plugged in for 20 notes
