Open circuit could be anything from a broken wire to a blown bulb?

the vehicle comes up with an adaptive light fault when its dark only (lights are set to auto) is the adaptive light part of the headlight or is it part of the fog lights ??? cant get my front fog lights to come on at all in auto or manual |

Usually the cornering light is a bulb situated at an angle between the projector for the dipped beam and the DRL.
Couldn't really comment on the fog lights. All seems very odd.

This may help:
The adaptive cornering light is the one sticking out at an angle and you can see it working at night by turning the wheel each way when you're stationary. Fog lights are just fog lights, they won't come on automatically under any circumstances.

Wow - needing to reset a fault code after a simple lamp (bulb) replacement seems like a good cash cow for Audi!?!?
Where would we be without VCDS!? |

yes
my feelings exactly but its only like the handbooks favourite phrase "please return your vehicle to your authorised audi dealer" and why didnt it give me a simple bulb warning light instead of the major meltdown warning lights and buzzers **** |

That is slightly concerning if the only thing wrong was in fact a bulb. Either way, glad you're all sorted.
