Default Polite acknowledgement?

In past times i have driven several vehicles that have had small sales figures or were old or had active owner clubs and in passing we would always give a polite nod or wave of greeting to a fellow vehicle, a bit of motoring "Eh-up". However in the past few encounters on the highways with fellow 8's they all seem......well......for want of a better phrase...........miserable
For pitys sakes people, CHEER UP! you are in a fine vehicle thats nice and comfy and quiet, put a smile on your fizhog and acknowledge other 8ers once in a while! I'm only being polite

also......I'm fed up of looking like a crackpot waving to other people who are ignoring me

LOL oh dear! I was at a garage today in my A4 and a silver A8 drew up which turned out to be another FL 3.7 QS like mine so I gave him the A8OC details and A8 parts details and he told me it was his 2nd 8 in a row (if someone joins from wiltshire this week I want commission!). maybe they are all too busy with all the gadgets and gizmos in their 8 to notice you waving like crazy
