Bonnet release cable fixed!!
Only went and fixed the broken bonnet release cable myself!! Go me!!
So i got home from work at 05.30.... not tired so thought id have another bash. Off comes wheel and arch liner. I can see the connector block..... its in there... sneaky little bugger. I dis a plug housing to get better access for my manly arm and hand. I pry the connector into a better position with a really long screwdriver, pop the lid off to see the double cable connector. Use some very long nose pliers to grip it and pull....... POP goes the bonnet! Turns out the single cable running from lever to connector had just pulled out of the alloy block. I re drilled this out with a 1.5mm bit as the cable wouldn't just push straight back in due to it being crimped previously and re crimped the cable in with my power crimper using a 6mm die. Luckily for me it was a straight pull out, it wasn't snapped or frayed. All I had to do was feed back in the 12 inches or so of cable I had pulled into the driver footwell which was no more complicated than popping off the drivers plastic sill cover to gain access and do. Conneted all back up and bingo actually better than before it went so that tells me it was due to go from before I bought it, just a matter of time really. Job jobbed!! Now to book it in for new windscreen as i have a crack..... And a power run now i can open the bonnet!!!

Well done. Thanks for sharing. What do you usually use this crimper for?

I usually use it for earthing at work in relay rooms.
I was really struggling to think what i could use to crimp it. Going through my roller cabinet looking then that lightbulb moment happened...... look in your railway tools you idiot it said. Lol
