Default Ride setting don't change, always hard.

Hi all.

I have the air sports suspension.

None of the settings make a damn bit of difference to the ride quality.

Comfort or dynamic are exactly the same, rock solid. Lift raises the car as it should, but ride comfort never changes?

Any ideas/resets or something I can do? Is there really that much difference between the settings?

System tends to go hard to protect itself when you have a leak or not enough pressure, but also -
Have a look at This thread first - may give you an idea.

in theory it should reset when you start it, but if you've got problems with either a leak in the system somewhere or insufficient pressure from the pump then it will normally show the orange fault light or be regularly showing the green light to show you are below ride height as the pump struggles top keep the accumulator tank full and maintain pressure in the system, in which case you may need to replace compressor pump.

Couple of useful threads if so -
Modified VCDS Label File for Air Suspension - helps you to test your system using vagcom, the compressor should be putting out up to 16 Bar

Changing the Compressor

Good luck!

Thanks very much, I've had the compressor out and replaced the piston ring and it's vibration dampers already just as a matter of passing the 100k miles mark I thought it should be done, I'm sure that's fine.

I don't drop any height if left and no warning lights.

I might try removing the battery for 24 hours then go for a drive in dynamic and see if it relearns.

Thanks again.
