Default Hello from Switzerland!

Decided to take the 8 on a two week road trip to the continent, and here she is overlooking Lungern valley, on the way to Interlaken.

Some truly breathtaking scenery, and a terrific road between Luzern and Interlaken, with steep climbs and drops, sweeping bends and corking hairpins!

Definitely a recommended route for anyone heading down here.

In other news, a D4 spotted me on the Autobahn on the way here and we decided to have a little heavy-footed fun. The mutual respect was refreshing!

There are some excellent roads in Switzerland. Well worth the day of driving through France to get there.

Done many routes around France, Italy & Switzerland a few times for banger rallies. Tearing round the hairpins and switchbacks in a £300 banger made me yearn to take my S8 down there some time and do the same routes.

We've usually ended up in Interlaken for a night, enjoying the local traditional cuisine (Hooters). It's a lively town at night then serene and relaxing in the morning with the impeccably timed trains and the pale blue river running side by side.

There are some cracking mountain passes as soon as you leave Val d'Isere en route to Bormio, Italy.

I agree, really beautiful, and great roads.
I've never taken the 8 there but have driven various coaches in and around the area.
Making me jealous, I do miss the driving now that my year numbers are increasing.
