Although it's early days as your car hasnt been diagnosed, it it is the injectors, try and get the latest letter-suffix you can find (taking into account the price), as the early ones are crap by all accounts.
Certainly don't get earlier versions than you already have.
Here are two interesting threads if it turns out to be injectors....

Fault Status 00100010

006256 - Transmission Mount Valve 1 (N262)

You need to check the rail pressure against specified and actual to see if the fuel pump is creating enough pressure.

I can't remember if the 3.0TDi has a single fuel pump, or a dual stage one.

It still could be a leaking injector, which would prevent the rail pressure building.

Do you have VCDS yet?

Shhhhhhh..... She might hear you and take offence

If they made the S8 in a LWB I'd have bought one BUT.... As you already know I am considering a 6.0 W12 for the next one, which will end up LPG I rekon the LPG W12 would be just like running the TDI fuel cost wise...

VROOOOOMMMMM

Need to do more homework on that one though.

Be careful with the LPG, HMR&C have only said that the current LPG tax concession lasts until 2014. Of course it might be extended and was already extended from the original 2012.
