Default D3 Bose sub FREE for anyone that wants it

Hi guys.

Today I've stripped the parcel shelf to replace what I thought was a blown sub in the Bose system. Turns out the sub was not the issue and the rattle is still present. I discovered this after fitting the new one supplied very quickly from A8 Parts!

So now the original sub is free for anyone that wants it but it's collection only from the Wirral.

As far as I can tell, there's no issue at all with it. The rattle was not cured with the new sub. I've seen my arse with it today having spent more money on it and all I've managed to do is somehow create an open circuit to a keyless entry sensor!

Keyless entry has numerous aerials around the car to prevent you accidently locking your keys inside the car, keylessly

I'm pretty sure there is one for the boot, under the parcel shelf so you have likely just disturbed that anonymous looking connection...

Ahh ok it might be parcel shelf out again tomorrow night then! At least I know how the rear seats come out now though. It did work on my last attempt though so fingers crossed it's simply a lose connection.

Do you need to disconnect the battery to remove the rear seats as they have air-bags in them? or can you just pull the plugs off with battery connected but ignition off?

I feel obliged to recommend the official method where you disconnect the battery first.

But I personally rarely do, and as long as you have VCDS handy to reset the airbag lights then I've never hit a problem....

Personally I leave the battery on. As long as the ignition remains off you shouldn't have an issue.
