I think every active D2 member of the forums has signed up, so I'll email the 'lucky winners' on Thursday with details.

Last few days to sign up

Are there other Audi's with the same controls then, or is this unique to the D2? I reckon you could do some good business at the Vorsprung International meeting.

The switch is shared with loads of earlier stuff - 80, 100, Coupe, V8 etc. The meet organisers get a bit grumpy about selling stuff out of your boot at the show, but you could hand out pre-orders.

Your chauffeurs will be without seat memory function for a few days, thats all.

Once the control panel is plugged back in, everything will be back as it should be, and all the memory will still be there.
Will the normal seat movement controls still work as normal, and what about the key-linked memory?
Just wondering as mine is due for an MOT very soon and a non-moving drivers seat is usually a failure these days!

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Manual seat controls will still work fine.

As for the key, we'd have to try it. I'm not sure if the memory on/off switch is normally open or normally closed. It may be that with the buttons removed, memory is full disabled. I'll have a look at mine later.

I'm pretty sure seat adjustment will work without the control panel.
When i retrofitted my twin pane windows, i had the driver side door card off, and still was able to adjust the driver seat.

I think i will just stick to the forum, and do the current batch of panels, if someone else ever needs one doing, I can do it but it will be at a higher price.

Key memory does not function with the switch removed so the on/off switch on the panel does appear to be an 'enable' function, rather than 'disable'. Manual controls still work just fine.
