That's interesting, My 8's parked on a slope too, with the rear lower than the front.
Last year I poured a kettle full of water under the 'intake' & there was water coming out under the car, over the transmission, also poured in around the sunroof, and that egressed too........ baffled

Thanks for all the tips & links folks.
I've pretty much decided to use a water hose to get some pressure to clear the drains out (rather than air).
Easier for me and it also provides an instant check that it's working.

As was pointed out in one of the links it's already soaking wet so a bit of spillage won't matter!

Also, now my (removable) carpet and mats are nearly dry I've decide to replace all the overmats (not the main heavy foam-backed carpet sections in the front) and maybe keep some as spares for winter (I have 2 sets which were actually on top of each other - a partial Audi OEM colour-matched set and a full dark rubber-backed set for winter).

Having rummaged on eBay I found these in Germany: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150734514481?
Now they're not suitable for me (I'd only want a PF S8 logo ) but what do we think - tacky or class?

If i understand this right, it's the aircon evaporator drains not the water drains. The 2 pipes with the orange ends through the trans tunnel. The aircon takes moisture out the air and is supposed to dump it through these drains, if they are blocked the water finds it’s way into the vent ducting and spills into the back. This would make sense if the rear is lower too.

So if you’re pouring water into the sunroof and intake and these are draining then that’s good, at least these are clear.

Yes I thought that too (re Night Train's problem).

(I don't think I have a problem with the other drains either, just the aircon.)

A set of black S8 logo mats came with my car, but the motif is much smaller & more subtle, however, I bought a really decent set of OEM coloured overmats and fitted them, it takes a close inspection to see that they're overmats (in the front, the rears are easily seen as mats but fit very well), but they weren't cheap.

sorry but I think with the amount of water you have, I do think your orange drains are blocked, the aircon should not really produce that much water particularly in the winter I would guess, I did all three sets of drains and have been dry since, its probably best to do them all

Those are the ones I'm going to deal with (eventually).
Or am I missing something?

Just to add to this........

Can external water, ie rain get into the evaporator area and cause problems if there's a blockage in the orange drains.......

I haven't used mine for a few weeks, and I now have water, so my reasoning is that as the aircon has not been used in that time, so nothing could have condensed out, that's why I ask about ingress into the evaporator area. We've had a lot of rain recently too......

I don't have puddles as such, but its most annoying causing heavy condensation every now & then on the front & rear screens, & I'm rather fed up drying them off......

It did with mine, I used to get the most water through the rear AC vents directly after a wash
