Default Tiptronic not engaging

Hello

I recently bought an 97 3.7 quattro with 01V gearbox and tiptronic.
When shifting to tiptronic mode nothing happens.

I have checked with vagcom and when I shift to tiptronic the tcu register this, also when changing up and down.

No fault codes on the transmission except for load signal error message from ecu. This is because I have a problem with the maf (singal too high). Have ordered a new one.

Any toughts on why tiptronic isnt working? Could it be because of the maf error?

some time ago I unplugged my MAF to give it a clean and didn't quite get the plug back together correctly when I reassembled it. No other warning lights came on during the short test drive before I realised I'd not got the plug in correctly but when it wasn't connected it disabled the tiptronic. Once it was back together properly tiptronic worked again. I don't know if the MAF is stopping yours working but if the MAF has a fault and isn't working correctly it might well be the cause.

I received the new maf today and I can confirm that a defective maf keeps the tiptronic from working.
