What about the CV boots, could be worth getting them checked. The grease is that sort of colour. Try moving the ok wheel to one of the faulty corners and see if the fault moves to the good wheel.

Is it on all four wheels, Brian? If so, it surely must be the faulty compressor that's filled your tyres with oil. Can't imagine that multiple CV boots would go at once. Put the 20" wheels back on and take these back to the fitter. Get him to remove the tyres whilst you watch!

Pic 2 is the drivers rear? and pic 6 is the passenger front? so won't be a split boot, split boot will normally leave lumps of grease on the inside of the wheel.
Is it on all 4 corners? Tyre soap is normally lighter in colour but that said if fitted properly the fitter should have used a drop on the valves before pulling them through the wheel. It is weird nothing should leak out of the valve obviously or you'll have a flat. Have you cleaned the inside of the rim with anything?

not CV or related to anything on the car, had it all checked out, its only on three of them Jim, which makes it all the more strange. No cleaner used before it happened Dezzy

OK, I'd still favour the dirty compressor theory, coupled with re-used valves. So 3 of the valves are leaking and the 4th is sealed (but the tyre is still full of crap).

think that's my theory as well, though they are new valves, but what I don't understand is why is the fluid getting out but the air isn't?

Have you tried putting the wheel in a bowl of water (jack it up, then lower it until the valve is covered) to see if there are bubbles? It is strange, but I know I've had similar marks (but not as extensive), but don't think I ever identified what caused it.

I'm assuming you have a pump of some discription at home, so push the valve core in all the way with something and see if anything comes out under pressure.
I've put water in tractor rear tyres before air to give more ballast, but not syrup. Sure no one is playing silly buggers with you?
