Default GROUP BUY - Coilover Kit

All,

How many people would be interested in a group buy of a coilover kit?

I want one and I know a few of you out there are interested.

Please post here is genuinely interested. As a starter I have spoken to the person advertising here and he is seeing what sort of discount he can offer.

1997 S8 - Ming Blue. Loaned out and written off. I loved that car. My first engine swap after cambelt failure.
1996 4.2 A8SQ - Ming Blue. 178k on a cambelt! Trader's 8. Delivered to A8Parts at Lifex.
2003 2.8 A8SQ - powder blueish. Fill in for a while. Sold on.
1998 1.8T A4 Avant FWD. Ming Blue (there's a theme here), PEX for the 97 S8.
And a list of non VAG going back 40 years before I saw the light.

Definitely interested but may be a couple of months too early for me. I may struggle to find the money if it's a quick buy.

If we can get even more discount I'm sure I'll find the monies somewhere somehow.

Having used several brands of coilovers on my old mk4 golf I feel I should say that spax coilovers had a real bad reputation for reliability. Didn't have them myself , I'm a kw fan, but my garage who deal with a lot of modified cars say they're terribly unreliable and offer very poor aftersales care for parts etc.
Not saying the A8 ones will be bad but just thought I'd let you know..... Especially as the A8 spax coilovers are a lot more expensive than the old golf ones........

Mike, I am ordering some in the next 2/3 weeks but could hold on for a good discount. We don't want spax. I have looked into this. You can get KW V1s for £883 and FKs which are meant to be quite good as well, these are about £550ish. I'll have a search for links.

I suppose it's horses for courses. I am after steet looks and straight line performance. Some may be after street handling or even track handling.

You can't go wrong with kw, great ride,good mix of comfort and hardness and solid as a rock reliability. Had the variant 1's on my mk4 golf for 6 years, dropped right on the floor, plenty of spirited driving including a bit of pothole abuse and the tree incident that ended the poor old golf's life.. Buckled an alloy but all 4 coilovers came off unscathed, cleaned up to look almost as new and have now been fitted to a mates bora and running well...
They are pricey but ask anyone in the know - they're worth it......
