Sorry to hear you're having to sell it now John, hopefully you will still be around the forum and stay in touch. It's a one off car and would make a really interesting project for somebody I'm sure.

Good luck with your health issues too and let us know if theres anything we can help you with (I'm not that far away in London when I'm there).

I've driven this car and it's the fastest D2 S8 I've driven, and the most fun too. It had the engine problem when I drove it and there was honestly no way of telling. It sounds, performs and even idled nicely. The engine problem sounds worse then it is, my S8s which drove faultlessly didn't pull like John's.

Sorry I'm off-topic here, but could you tell me your paint code? I Googled my own code, and it comes up as Aqua Blue. I then Googled Aqua Blue, and it came up with two different codes, one of which is mine.

My car's also a 2001, and looks like a greyish-blue.

Thanks!

Its such a lovely car it would be a shame to tear it down for a RHD conversion. Why not just get a new engine and keep it running.
I saw a AVP engine on ebay for just over a grand:

Buy the whole car guy, John won't mess you around. It'll cost you what he's asking for it for parts anyway. If i had somewhere for it to live i'd be very tempted

Dezzy is right Guy, the parts separately cost me £2800 so far. In fact you are probably better of keeping it as a LHD, I'm sure you will get used to it.

John just out of curiosity whats your rpm in 6th gear at 70mph, I'm wondering if its lower than the auto box in 5th at 70mph?

Thanks

That is one thing that annoyed me about the 8 after driving the 6.

At motorway speeds the 8 was at 3000 rpm whereas the 6 is nearer 2000.
