Default Phaeton 19x9 rims

I'm thinking of a change. What do people think of the Phaeton 19x9 ET40 on a D3?

I like those Matt.

Any pics of them on a D3?

I've searched google and bing with all the key words but nothing comes up with them on the D3 sadly.

This is the rim on a Golf...

I like them a lot, plenty of spokes for strength but a smooth design so relatively easy to clean, I reckon they'd look great on a D3

My thoughts as well Ron. Apparently they were for the V10tdi and W12 so I'll take a guess that their weight loading will be fine for the D3. Also they should fill the wheel arch nicely being ET40.

There is this used set in Germany,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191620329332

A bit expensive at £2k even with new tyres. I've saved a search in ebay

they look awesome, my main worry would be kerbing, because due to the design there is a large part of the main spoke sitting flush of the surface of the wheel - could end up being multiply-scuffed very easily methinks

I'd have to drive near the kerb to have any chance of making contact Neil but I agree with your observation and comment

Yes, the design does look prone to be easily kerbed. Found a few Phaetons on ebay with scratched alloys.

Good 2nd hand value though
