Default Does anyone else tow with an A8.

Its very rare to see an A8 on a campsite so I was wondering how many out there have towbars and use them.

Yes mate. I prefer a modest hotel stay over a caravan site. But this summer we're touring France and Spain in the D3 with a 'van behind the thing. Nothing as fancy as yours, mind.

I have a removable hook on the S and fixed on the A. Tow all the time with my small box trailer, car trailer or horse box. Never used it for a van though. Have too much respect for other road users!

Dont worry we race solo cars not hold them up. Its fun when you beat a car away from the lights with a 2 ton chavavan on the back.

If there's an award for the ricketiest, crumbliest and least safe trailer (it was a parting gift from neighbours), I'd like to think I would win.

Fella at the local tip thinks it's hilarious, 'nice big car like that, with a trailer like THAT'...

Now that fridge freezer doesnt look safe.

Maybe we should follow the vw guys lead and make trailers out of the rear end of scrapoed S8's 😀

Im also partial to a good hotel but the caravan gives us the chance to go every other weekend and to Europe for 6 -8 weeks a year and i couldnt afford to do that in Hotels. ( im not an S8 owner )

Not sure if anyone on here posts on Caravan Talk, but I read a post about someone with a A8 and having a reverse camera, which I thought there is someone else with one who tows a caravan. Its nice to see, at the early part of the year I stayed on Clumber park for 3 months, and never saw another.

In my job you don't get much time off at weekends, so our usage really doesn't justify the amount it costs, which is a shame.
The tours that I do include my hotel room and meals, the job doesn't pay well for me to stay there on holiday.
