Yes, that's the devil. Not sure if they are supposed to use a rolling road, it would be a lot easier if they can.

Yeah, that's the bulletin for the hooting issue but that's not the one i looked at with the main dealer.

The one the main dealer found is the same format of document but specficially refers to the hard shift problem and notes the issue with the wear of the clutches and the electronis not being able to compensate enough hence the deterioration in shift quality.

According to the dealer, it's called ''TPI 2010194/9'' but the way they found it was with the SVM number i gave them which is NA4E37AA01

The TPI number for that link appears to be 2013023/1. Can you find 2010194/9? I've googled it but i can't find an actual PDF of the document.

Thanks again...

Chris

Default Gearbox going into Safe mode.

Hi Guys,

I have a 2008 Quattro Sport Audi A8, and twice today it's shown the gears in red and I've switched off and back on to clear it. Despite doing plenty of miles the first twice I'd ever since this was 200 miles away from my home with in 100 ft of the same location so I can safely say the problem was for a specific reason. I was in traffic and on a very long steady incline out of Bath Somerset, when it looked the first time and just short the second time.

Knowing very little do I suggest that the gearbox fluid needs topping up, and if so how is this done and with what product?

Regards

mark

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.

I know A4Audi quite well and have taked a number of different Audis to the (an A6, an A8 ansd 2 S8s).

I used to rate them highly but lost faith after a while, particularly when my previous S8, which I sold to friend, had the timing belt etc replaced. I'd had it done previously at A4Audi - who claim to use only genuine Audi parts. Suffice to say, the only genuine Audi part was a roller that looked like it hadn't been replaced. You may draw your own conclusions!

But for the gearbox, definitely Mackies in this neck of the woods.
