Tried it again today but I sat in the car and manually turned it on.
The engine was stone cold, it was 7˚c outside.
At first the air was cold and fan speed very low, it took 5 mins to blow luke warm air and the fans got a little faster iit got warmer by 10 mins and the fans were a little faster.
While testing, remember the ignition is off and MMI screen down.
I was able to change which vents were blowing in the usual way but could not see the MMI, just symbols on the LCD.

For this to work, I do suspect that an adaptaion needs to be made ref my previous post to fire up the aux-heater when required by the temp set on the HVAC control. All it really is is the rest /residual heat function but with the aux-heater coming on.

Yeah I will do that adaption and see how it goes. Like you say, if the rest pump is just enough to move the coolant a little it should stop it boiling in the Webasto. Thanks for your input.

are we on about the pump that's bolted to the webasto? I managed to get one for £20 along with the rover 75 webasto I got off eBay, it's wired internally so will be just plug and play hopefully

I think this is the full documentation about adaptation values.

And here is the definitive guide for those who may have not found it..

I bought a genuine pump from a heat, all the pipe work, connectors, clips and can't get the recycle pump connected to the heater cause I don't have needed plugs, I can't find them.

Audi don't do them, apparently and webasto has no idea what I'm on about and says its an Audi only part.

What I should of done, is bought the pump from the guide that SD posted up.

This rest mode pump, is that standard on all A8s?
That would save me from trying to fit the proper recycle pump to the heater.

Scott is it this type of plug for the aux heater pump, just go on there site and search for webasto connectors .
I got the pump off ebay somewhere and just cut the incorrect plug off and soldered the correct end on .

The rest pump is present but like already said by Snap D it looks like it will not come in on the timed function ......well as far as we have worked out up to now .

Ive done mine and when the bumpers off its afew more hours of labour to get the pump on the webasto unit ........in my opinion its worth doing .... but perhaps up North its a bit colder than the sunny south

My pump does not have the cable.
I got a plug on my bump side.

I need to go back through my parts and double check what I'm missing for the pump.

Been almost a year since I've looked at it.

Thanks for the link though.
