Hmmm, now there's something slightly unexpected inside the cabin IIRC.

I remember something not working and couldn't figure it out, then happened to go in the boot and find no lights.
I think I'd had the holders out for some reason, accidentally shorted out and not noticed.

But anyway, don't they have a timeout if the boot isn't shut properly?

e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

IIRC there's a wake/sleep signal that the Bose amp receives from the OEM RNS head unit. If that's not being sent correctly your amp may be permanently "live".
10 out of 10 to HP

I finally managed to see another audio specialist and he immediately picked up on the Bose amp being active all the time. He believed the Bose harness being used was faulty and wasn’t switching off the amp and it was permanently live just as HP said. He swapped over to a new harness that runs from the headunit pre outs instead of the speaker wires. The trade off is a small thump sound as the amp powers on/off but I can live with this for now. To eliminate that I would need to swap out my speakers and Bose amp to an aftermarket set.....watch this space!

I’ll monitor over the next few weeks as I only had it done yesterday but the technician who fixed it is confident this will be it. Fingers crossed and thanks to all who gave input.

Blimey! I posted that just over a year ago.
On the other hand solving a problem in a year is often quite quick for me.......

That's the way OEM works so yes, the original install was incorrect.
Surprised the levels from a speaker output didn't damage the Bose amp!

It wasn’t direct from the speakers to the Bose amp. It was going through the harness which has some magical boxes that dialled down the signal suitable for a feed in to the amp. The technician and said it was wired correctly but believed it was faulty.
