I always liked the look of the FL S8 D2 when it came out but could not find a good enough reason to get one when they were a few years old. I managed to find reasons for (most!) of my others but I felt that the S8 was very similar to the LS400 I bought when I was 31! No bad thing!

Finally succumbed to the S8 'itch' in my mid forties. Took me a while to find one good enough - and for my wife to say "oh just buy it and stop going on about it"!!

I'm 47 now and got my first 8 last week. But had a TT since 2001 and three seven series over the same time period. I don't know what I was thinking. Always loved the TT in the wet or the snow and cursed at the beamer.

Finally decided that it was time for a refined quattro drive

............Always loved the * since seeing it on Ronin the movie back in 88.
As above, as a lover of most cars, and car chase films, the Ronin caught my eye the second I saw that full four wheel drift and I was hooked! about five or six years ago I looked at the final edition D2's on 20's but for what ever reason I went 2006 Evo 9 Guy Wilkes rally replica instead and tuned that to 448 bhp... However I've come back to the Audi 8 scene where I was looking at the S8 D3 in black and even test drove three, but those fuel bills forced me into the A8 D3 SWB Quattro Sport that I bought about two months ago. I'm now 37 so below the average and aware of this when meeting up with my mates as their rides are nothing like mine so perhaps I'm ahead of my time, but no bad thing when you have an Audi A8 on the drive.

Regards, Mark.

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.

1st 8 .. 52, last year. First BMW 7 was when I was 35. I think the older population of owners is more about being able to afford it. I did get some stick about it being an old mans car.

Its the same for learning to fly. Most private pilots are in our age range.

Hi There,

41 here, though I got my first S8 about 6yrs back.

I was origionally looking for a BMW 8 series and missed, getting a D2 FL S8 with LPG. Put about 100K of miles on it in 3.5years in mainly personal miles. Would think nothing of nipping off for a 1.5hrs drive each way for a night out in that beast!

I always wanted an A2 and an A8. At the age of 34 I sold the A2, my first diesel and have had to make do with the A8 ever since. Now 35.

don't agree about being able to afford it .....as you get older it is easier to get in and out with bigger doors !

I'am 46, bought my first A8 approx 14 year ago after my mate bought a 2.8 D2, I drove it to Germany, got back home and had to have one, so bought a 2.8 D2 sport in silver on a T plate
In the last few years I have had a further three, 54 plate D3, 57 plate D3 sport and now just bought a 59 D3 sport again three weeks ago
For some reason, I fancy a change, sell the 8 after a few months realise nothing beats the 8's and end up going back
Cheers Andy

45

I've always liked larger, 'executive' cars. Had 8's for about 10 years now and had 2 Citroen XMs for about 10 years before that.
