I should have said I tried -16 also.

Same behaviour, lock and unlock as expected and correct but car still turns the alarm on with unlock and turns the interior lights on with lock.

I have not had any need to play around with 8s central locking but if it is like C4 A6 pump and IIRC it only sucks vacuum in one direction and there are either 1 hose or going from the pump if everything unlocks together or 2 hoses if you have option to open just boot in which case 2nd hose is a separate for boot. Door/ fuel flap hose then splits and only 1 hose goes to each door only sucking vacuum and never blowing. Lock/unlock is selected by electrical valve in the door lock actuator unit switching which side of actuator the vacuum is being pulled on. Considering that your pump has been replaced it could be the wrong pump for the car where electrical pins for lock/unlock wires going to actuator units have swapped places.

Yes it should be a 8L0862257 looking at ETKA, I will have a look around the car tomorrow to see actually what it is and what's been done in there if anything.

Its all very odd, but I like these kinds of challenges!

Still looking into this one as it intrigues me.

As in my central locking/ alarm is back to front. All works as it should but the open button locks and lock opens etc.

All operates as it should and coding is good as spent some time with that.

So as mentioned before I was going to change the Central Locking pump and see if that does anything.

Part number is 4A0862257 as MJ kindly provided but there are a couple of versions so I want to ensure I get the right suffix (Not near the car to pull the current one out at the moment).

Looking at ETKA "Q" looks like its for the later models, but also states there is a "P" suffix for GB models.

Hence I wanted to get the right one, plus was wondering if someone has replaced it before and that might of caused the problem if not the quite right variant was used?
