95 key blank
Hi! My a8 only came with one key, an IR one with a semi crooked blade. Local dealer wants ~250£ for a replacement IR one. I have found other key blanks that looks like the same blade, Will these work or are there a electronic chip system that will not work with the keys from the likes of Audi 90,100,200 etc?
On my old 96 Volvo 850, all keys needed to be programmed to work with the ignition. I don't need the remote part, I just want more keys in case I loose the one I have. Thanks Ole

There is an immobiliser transponder in the key which you will need to get coded to the car, as well as having the blade cut. Your car is Immo 1 which has the immobiliser box under the dash. You'll need to get the pin number (SKC) from the box in order to program a new key - there are a number of tools which can do this such as VAG-Tacho.
Any Immo1 compatible key will work. Early A4 and A6, late Audi 80 and C4 A6 all used Immo1 as well so a blank suitable for those should also work with yours. |

Thank you! I guess I will be ordering a VAG-tacho and some blanks.
