I'd say it's time for a price drop. £6500 ONO. I had an eBay best offer of £6350 not long ago so not far of the mark.
 As some advice, should I put it on a 99p auction or stick it on eBay at 6,500 or best offer? I paid £8.5k, spent just over 1k in maintenance so it hasn't cost me far of 10k since I brought it in July 2010 and 8k miles ago.

I've done an eBay best offer for two weeks now and Pistonheads. Some people don't understand what it is. One guy said to me 'all the others have the teles too.' Yes but they are £150 RNS Ds and this is a £1k worth of RNS E.
 I'm tempted to de spec it. Mirrors,wheels,rnse,grills,Xenon pluses for standard items. Then just sell it as a standard 4.2 A8 Sport with LPG for say £4k with the solar,fancy seats S8 block etc. I mean, I've been offered £800ish for my Xenon pluses and would a buyer really care/notice if they were standard Xenons?

& I'd be making offers on your D3
 I'm not too bothered about the money I've lost on it, end of the day it's depreciation. I'd never anticipated getting my money back so that's not a problem. It's not getting a single penny for my other S8 that hurts, after all the time and effort that went into it. There wasn't a mark on it after the stonechips were filled in and it drove so nice and tight, it was like new. I had a dream it was recovered the other day and I was soo happy. I think about her a lot

I got zip from ads on ebay and Pistonheads when I was selling my 2.8 D2. Autotrader was far better. The thought of stripping that lovely car makes me want to go to the bank for a loan to buy it myself (and to the lawyer for a divorce!). What about the guy recently looking for an S8 in Ireland who posted here?

If that guy from Ireland was interested in Amar's car he would also need to spend another €1893 on the Irish import tax for a car of that type. And that is based on an Irish government estimated current value of €5260 i.e. tax is 36% of the value in Ireland.
That may be what is scaring him off. Also the punitive €1566 yearly motor tax is pretty off putting too...
