Good info an thanks for sharing.
The top bearing I looked at allowed the rod to move for and aft around 5mm (the bearing was in a sled and at each end of the sled were small springs) which may help with the rod not being straight and true. For now I will not bother until I am doing some tall prints as for now just working on understanding how to use it best.

That's exactly how mine came, apart from the springs. What's at the top on yours?

Yep - no springs.
Will find the link to the one I found. Here it is: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2984486

Oh I like that That's a pretty nice solution to the best of both worlds. Looks like ballpoint pen springs would work quite well too. I'm printing cable chains at the mo but I might have a look in to that one later

So - designed my first piece in 3D and printed off this afternoon (it will be part of something bigger) - but didn't come out perfect
I think the bed may have been to warm but not sure as the corners on one side lifted or shrunk. This is the part in 3D This is how it came out: You can see on the right how it is rounded (Top) Bottom: For what is going to be used for it will work as it is

Bit small for a step stool
Sorry Andy, I shouldn't laugh at anothers misfortune. We have been too busy to do anything lately, apart from buying some new filament because the Dremel stuff was absolutely the pits. Could the bed have been too cold? Allowing it to lift when the height increased.

Bed was set to 60 degrees so don't think so.
I might do it again but use less fill. I will give the plate a full clean as it wasn't used for a week so could be more dusty than I thought plus will level the bed again as it may have lost its level?

The CR-10S is a bugger for losing the level since the right hand stepper gets out of sync at the end of every print. I've been pondering many options for this and will be trying a few ideas shortly. For now I just use the digital caliper to measure the height of the X carriage before every print.
Is the printer in a draughty area? A cold draught on one side could cause warping like that. I presume that's PLA? What settings were you using? |

Not drafty where it is and yes, using PLA.
Nozzle set at 200 and bed at 60. Probably due to the bed then - will check before printing and try it again - thanks for the tips

What about walls and infill? Printing with a brim can sometimes help with warping off the bed.
