Default Intake manifold runner control

Hi All,

I had the engine management light come on today whilst driving around town. Checked it out with my ODB2 which read
P2011 $07E8? 2/2 Generic
Intake manifold runner control circuit / open bank 2a (see attached image).

As I'm new to the whole ODB2 reader tried erasing the code but didn't expect it to work but it did.

Has anyone had a similar error before? Is it a big issue as in do need to stop driving the car until it's fixed? I have/ to drive from Burton-on-Trent to Northampton on Monday will it be ok?

My car is a 2008 3.0 tdi

The inlet manifolds have butterfly's in them to help with low speed running , they are controlled by a motor that does a 'sweep ' for a self check .
Sometimes the linkage bar falls off or sometimes the small link arms that stick out of the manifolds the plastic gets broken so the ecm sees a different sweep range from each bank .
It a well known fault on the 3l , there are repair kits but if the manifolds are broken on the travel stops the repair kits are no good .
I have seen full manifolds with the drive motors for sale on eBay , new units but non genuine , how good these are I don't know , seem to remember new genuine units are around £300 per bank iirc .
