Default Help - Trunk Trim/Battery/Tools

I know SA is known as a 3rd world Country but this is ridiculous...

I have been trying to get parts etc for the Trunk and some advice from the local Stealers but am getting nowhere..... so any help/advice would be appreciated.

I am rather pedantic about my vehicles and hope I don't bore you all with the mundane questions...

The Trunk rubber has perished (PIC Below) and I managed to pick up a 2nd hand from a mate who is stripping a 96 A8 only to find that it is too short so gonna hafta make another plan....will post a thread of this DIY when I get the new Rubber Seal ... anyway back to the topic... decided to strip out the trim in the boot and give it all a once over.

A few clips and things missing and some queries as to apparant missing connections etc. Please Help with any advice/part numbers/pics cause as I said the Dealers are clueless in this part of the world when it comes to the S8
pre 2008.

Trunk Rubber Perished...

I would like to restore all the original tools that these vehicles were supplied with. Can anybody help with what I am missing....

Amp/Aerial comparment.

1) There is a full height cover for this area .... but should there not be a cover similar to the one covering the battery on the right hand side. ??
2) Is there something that should be fitted to the two threaded brass nuts.??
3) There appear to be two clips missing ??

Battery Area

I found a brown wire lying loose whcih appears to have come from this lug on the cover. What is it's purpose and should I re-connect it.

There is a fixed threaded bolt which appears to have had something fitted to it in the past.... what is it for and should there be something connected to it. ?? Situated at the back right corner next to the battery.

It appears as if I am missing 2 securing clips that secure the front section of the Trunk Floor Mat.... The Stealers have no idea on these nor any record of them.. Part Number or Pic wpould be apprecaited... they thread onto these lugs...

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks Guys.

Some of the missing parts in your tool holder are the removeable towbar (the big space), a cover for the lock hole (straight small hole) and I think one is for the locking wheel nut.

Mine was also missing the little plastic lugs to hold the boot carpet down..

A8parts should be able to help you with the lot

The little slit in the too box is for the circular wheel centre removal tool.

There is a full height cover to the aerial cubby hole but on the battery side you only get a full height cover if you have the heated front screen option; otherwise it's a half cover. In the aerial cubby hole, it looks like the CD autochanger is missing - that's waht fits onto the 4 threaded holes.

I'll post some piccies of my boot space when it stops raining!

Hafta agree with you on that one... I am a Sunny skies person... Detest "Wet and Rainy"... prolly why I reside in SA... Hee Hee.

We are nearing the end of our winter so Sunny skies are approaching. My poor Cabriolet is feeling neglected cause the S is the prefferred mode of transport during winter...

Glad to hear you got your Car back.... Njoy.

Did you find out what's missing from the rear left corner (yours and mine)?

Theres nothing missing, well not on UK spec anyway, I've never seen anything fitted into that hole...

On a seperate note I do still desperately want to know why some foreign models (like Iyoles) have the spare wheel shiny side up, not face down like the UK...

Its like theres something extra under the boot floor, but inverting the wheel like that loses loads of handy inner-spare-wheel storage..
