Get another opinion. You obviously have doubts, about the garage and or the mechanic.

To be honest i'd be asking very awkward questions as to why it wasn't picked up before that the brakes were binding or how the master cylinder is now all of a sudden at fault while there were no issues before the pipes were changed.

That said if it is brake master cylinder there is better time to buy one from our sponsors Click here for 50% off brake master cylinder

Looks like they will try replacing ABS pump to rectify the problem. They asked me to source one. So when they text me the part number tomorrow I'll be straight on to out sponsors/hosts to acquire one. I did broach the subject of how much all this is gonna cost me. He did say he won't charge me for all the labour thus far. Lets hope this sorts the original issue which I've forgotten as its changed so many times.

Just want my car back. All this walking to the station in summery weather is far too healthy

If you replace the abs pump you must replace both the pump and the abs ECU which is bolted to it. You need to source one with the same codes as you already have on your current one and then change the whole unit and bleed the brakes afterwards. From memory there are about 3 or 4 combinations of codes and so make sure you have that information from the sticker on the ECU and the stamp on the side of the abs block before you hunt for one or call our sponsors

Has the abs unit thrown up any fault codes though ??

Cheers mate. Will do. He's boxed up the old one so I will pop along and pick it up to make sure I have the right part numbers.

Saga or what. I hope to have second hand replacement ABS pump/controller this week and then we'll see if it fixes the problem. I can't believe I only asked for new discs and pads and it's come to this. I hope this fixes the issue and I get my D2 back on the road soon I got 4 brand new Nokian z Line tyres in my garage waiting to go on too!!

Oh, that was a bit drastic. Did the problem with the brakes get sorted?

Brakes got sorted. But then it developed a misfire in the 7th cylinder and a coil pack didn't fix issue so I decided to walk away. Not my first audio but will be my last. Great car but got my fingers burnt on this one so will steer clear of audi's for the foreseeable. The bloke who bought it wanted the lamborgini copy alloys and the Nokian tyres I spent 500 on. He'll probably brake it or sell on the rest. Cest la vie. It needs a gearbox service and a cam belt and I'm not prepared to spend that kind of money. Lessons have been learnt
